World War

THE NEXT WORLD WAR

          The world has seen two great wars-the World War of 1914 and the World War of 1939. At the end of World War 1, the nations of the world got together and established the League of Nations, to see that there might not be another such war. How ever, it failed and the world saw another terrible war-far more terrible than the first. The World War 2 came and at the end of it, both the victorious countries as well as the defeated once were reduced to a miserable state. All parts of the world were hit more or less, directly or indirectly. The nations of the world once again came together and established the United Nations Organization to see that another World War is averted.

          How, almost the same causes which brought about the first two World Wars are present even now. There is the same distrust among the major nations of the world and the same mad race for more arms. Nations of the world are building more powerful air-ships and preparing more deadly bombs to destroy mankind. What can be the result of it all? We shudder to think but it would mean only another world war. With our Atomic Bombs and our Hydrogen Bombs. What hope is left for humanity? A single bomb is sufficient to destroy a whole city and few would be enough to wipe out whole countries. If there is another war and if these terrible weapons of war are used in it,  there is very little hope for human beings to survive.

          We are civilized people and pride ourselves on being civilized. We have no fear today of uncivilized, savage people of the world coming and destroy us. We have rather the great fear that we civilized people will destroy ourselves!

MORAL: War is not a way for solving any problem during the war nations are destroyed.
